Below is a letter from a Thirsty Resident in Ivory Park 2:

“Good morning KAE News,

I hope you are well.

I have been a follower of your page for several years and I would like to commend you for the great work you do in keeping the community informed about issues affecting KAE.

I notice that every morning you provide updates about the reservoir, stating that it is critically low and failing to supply water to high-lying areas. My question, on behalf of many residents, is whether the reservoir will ever return to a level where it can properly supply water to Ivory Park Ext 2.

It has now been about two and a half months without water in our taps in Ivory Park Ext 2, while other nearby areas seem to have water. Water tankers also do not come every day, which makes the situation very difficult for residents who have to carry buckets and sometimes compete for water when the tankers arrive.

Another concern is that we are still being billed every month as if water is being supplied to our homes, which many of us do not understand since our taps have been dry for a long time.

As a resident of Ivory Park Ext 2 and a member of the KAE community, I humbly ask if you could please raise this issue with the relevant authorities on behalf of the community. We would really appreciate clarity on whether the water supply will be restored and when we can expect water to return to our taps.

Thank you for your continued service to the community.”
