GRADE 5 LEARNER MILTON NEO MOKGOATSANE TO BE LAID TO REST

The Grade 5 learner who tragically died after a playground incident at Reagile Primary School has been identified as Milton Neo Mokgoatsane, a 10-year-old boy from the Winnie Mandela section of Tembisa.

Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane visited the family on Wednesday to offer condolences and support following the devastating incident that occurred on Monday, 16 February 2026.

Milton reportedly loved soccer and was playing with other learners during school break time when a soccer goalpost collapsed and fatally injured him on the school premises.

The GDE confirmed that the police are investigating the matter and an internal probe, with an independent law firm being appointed.
