SOME SASSA GRANTS DELAYED – BENEFICIARIES URGED TO VISIT OFFICES
Some SASSA beneficiaries did not receive their grants in early July as expected. This comes after the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) began reviewing the grants of certain individuals who may have other sources of income that were not declared.
July 2025 Payment Dates:
Older Persons: Wednesday, 2 July
Disability Grants: Thursday, 3 July
Children’s Grants: Friday, 4 July
While most people were paid on these dates, some found their money missing. SASSA says this is because they are doing a review process to check if people still qualify for the grants.
Who Is Affected?
Only people who are under review are affected. These are mostly individuals who may be working or earning other income that was not disclosed to SASSA when they applied. SASSA is asking these people to go to their nearest SASSA office within one month to prove that they still qualify.
Important Info:
No grants have been suspended yet.
SASSA has only changed the payment schedule for people under review.
If you received a message or notice from SASSA to come in, please go as soon as possible.
If you do nothing, your grant could be cancelled permanently.
SASSA has also reminded everyone to:
Update contact details with SASSA.
Inform them of any changes in your financial situation.
Use the smart ID card instead of the green barcoded ID book to avoid fraud.
If you have questions or want to check your grant status, contact SASSA on 0800 60 10 11 or email GrantEnquiries@sassa.gov.za.
