ATTENTION UBER & BOLT DRIVERS: DO NOT ACCEPT TRIPS TO ELDOS
Two (2) suspects have been arrested for hijacking a vehicle and kidnapping in Eldorado Park on Friday, 31 October 2025.
Members of Eldorado SAPS, Gauteng Traffic Police and Retract Tracking Company arrested the suspects for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and kidnapping.
The suspects were caught stripping the hijacked vehicle and attempted to flee the scene but were apprehended after a short chase. Both suspects, aged between 18 and 23 years, are believed to be notorious for targeting Uber and Bolt drivers in and around the area.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the duo may be linked to several other similar cases, where they allegedly request e-hailing trips and rob drivers of their cash, cellphones, and vehicles.
Eldorado Park SAPS are urging Uber and Bolt drivers to avoid accepting trips to or from Eldorado Park Extensions 1, 2, and 4, as these areas have been identified as high-risk zones for such robberies.
