POLICE SEEK COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE TO IDENTIFY UNKNOWN DECEASED

Ivory Park Police are appealing to the community for assistance in identifying an unknown deceased male.

On Saturday, 31 May 2025, at approximately 10:15, police responded to a murder scene in Clayville Extension 45. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a male believed to be in his thirties, lying next to a red container.

Preliminary information suggests that the victim may have been assaulted with a sjambok. The suspect remains unknown at this stage.

The deceased was transported to the Germiston Mortuary, where the body has remained unclaimed and unidentified since the incident.

Members of the public who may have information regarding the identity of the deceased or the circumstances surrounding his death are urged to contact the Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Lithole of Ivory Park SAPS, on 083 713 9213.

This will assist in ensuring that the deceased does not undergo a pauper’s burial.
