ACTIONSA NAMES XOLANI KHUMALO AS MAYORAL CANDIDATE FOR EKURHULENI

ActionSA has officially announced well-known crime-fighting activist Xolani Khumalo as its mayoral candidate for the City of Ekurhuleni in the upcoming Local Government Elections (LGE).

Ekurhuleni, one of Gauteng’s largest metropolitan municipalities, covers a vast area including Tembisa, Kempton Park, Alberton, Germiston, Benoni, and Springs, among others.

Khumalo, a Tembisa-born activist, rose to prominence as the host of the hard-hitting television show Sizok’thola, where he and his team confronted drug dealers and criminal syndicates, earning him a reputation as a fearless champion against crime. His candidacy is expected to bring ActionSA significant traction, especially in communities grappling with crime, unemployment, and service delivery challenges.

Khumalo’s entry into the race is likely to shake up the political landscape in Ekurhuleni, a municipality long governed by the ANC but recently marked by coalition instability and service delivery protests.

As the campaign season draws closer, all eyes will be on whether Khumalo can transform his crime-fighting activism into a viable political mandate that resonates with residents across the metro.
