POLICE INVESTIGATING TWO SHOOTING INCIDENTS IN KAALFONTEIN
Police have launched an investigation following two (2) reported shooting incidents in Kaalfontein in the early hours of Saturday morning, one of which left a man dead.
According to preliminary reports, an African male, believed to be in his 30s, was shot and killed after an argument broke out among a group of men on Tongouesole Street at around 04:00.
A nearby resident told KAE News that she overheard the men arguing before several shots rang out.
“At first I heard two gunshots, then a short silence before more shots followed,” she said.
The victim was later found lying on the street, and police from Ivory Park SAPS were called to the scene.
Police have since opened a murder docket and are investigating the motive.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggest that an e-hailing driver may also have been shot around the same time. Police, however, say details remain sketchy, and it is not yet clear whether the incidents are connected or linked to violence targeting e-hailing operators.
