SASSA MOVES NOVEMBER GRANT PAYMENT DATES AHEAD OF LOCAL ELECTIONS
SASSA has revised its November 2026 social grant payment dates, with Older Persons Grants now scheduled for 30 October ahead of the Local Government Elections.
SASSA has revised its November 2026 social grant payment dates to minimise disruptions during the upcoming Local Government Elections.
The South African Social Security Agency announced the changes on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, following consultations with stakeholders and approval from National Treasury.
Under the revised schedule, some November grants will now be paid from Friday, 30 October, ahead of the Local Government Elections scheduled for Wednesday, 4 November.
REVISED NOVEMBER 2026 PAYMENT DATES
- Older Persons Grant: Friday, 30 October 2026
- Disability Grant: Monday, 2 November 2026
- Children’s Grants: Tuesday, 3 November 2026
SASSA said the adjustment is intended to ensure grant payments continue efficiently and securely with minimal disruption during the election period.
Beneficiaries whose grants are undergoing reviews should continue responding to official SASSA communication and attend review appointments when requested.
A fourth payment day on 5 November 2026 has been set aside specifically for beneficiaries whose grants fall within the review process.
SASSA also urged beneficiaries not to rush to SASSA offices, saying payments will be processed according to the revised schedule.
The agency warned beneficiaries to rely on official SASSA communication channels and remain alert to misinformation about social grants.
