SEVEN TRANSFORMERS WORTH R1.53M RECOVERED IN IVORY PARK OPERATION
Seven (7) transformers valued at approximately R1.53 million have been recovered during a joint operation in and around Ivory Park.
The operation involved members of the Gauteng Traffic Police, the South African Police Service and the Gauteng Traffic Wardens Infrastructure Unit.
Six (6) suspects were arrested during the operation for various offences, including contraventions of the Immigration Act.
The suspects also face charges relating to the unlawful damaging, removal or destruction of electricity transmission, distribution or reticulation cables and equipment, as well as the unlawful possession of electricity distribution infrastructure.
The seven recovered transformers were handed over and booked in at Eskom for further processing.
