IEC UNVEILS NEW LOGO FOR 2026 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS — PUSHING YOUTH TO VOTE
The Electoral Commission has launched a new logo and campaign encouraging South Africans to register and vote in the 2026/27 Local Government Elections.
The Electoral Commission has officially launched a new logo and campaign identity for the upcoming 2026/27 Local Government Elections, signalling the start of the election countdown.
The new branding carries a strong message:
“Get Up. Show Up. Vote.”
The campaign is aimed at encouraging especially young South Africans to register, participate and take part in shaping their communities.
The Electoral Commission says the new identity is more than just a logo it represents a renewed push for voter participation, with a strong focus on youth engagement and building a voter-first democracy.

As part of the build-up to the elections, several initiatives have been announced:

- “Beats for My Peeps” on SABC 1 — May 2026
- National Election Campaign launch — 27 May 2026
- Voter Registration Weekend — 20–21 June 2026
