COMMENT OF THE WEEK: To Strike or Not to Strike?

This week’s Comment of the Week goes to Ackim Didex, who said:

Ackim’s comment comes in response to the recent protest action in KAE over the ongoing water crisis.

While the demonstrations brought temporary attention even prompting a visit from the Executive Mayor of Johannesburg the situation on the ground has worsened.

Residents now face daily throttling from 20:00 until 06:00, leaving many without water through the night and early morning and sometimes even more!

Ackim’s message hits at a deeper question many in the community are asking: To strike or not to strike? When service delivery fails, residents are left with few options and frustration often boils over.
