FUEL PRICES DROP FROM TODAY
The adjustments come as part of the monthly review based on international oil trends, the Rand/Dollar exchange rate, and local market conditions.
The Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Gwede Mantashe, has announced a decrease in fuel prices, effective Wednesday, 5 November 2025.
The adjustments come as part of the monthly review based on international oil trends, the Rand/Dollar exchange rate, and local market conditions.
Main Reasons:
• Crude oil prices fell from $67.16 to $64.14 per barrel due to global oversupply and slower demand growth.
• International petrol and diesel prices followed the decline, lowering South Africa’s import costs.
• The Rand strengthened slightly, averaging R17.29 to the US Dollar, further easing fuel prices.
• The Slate Levy remains unchanged at 0.00 cents per litre.
Fuel Price Adjustments (from 5 Nov 2025):
• Petrol 93 (ULP & LRP): ↓ 51 cents per litre
• Petrol 95 (ULP & LRP): ↓ 51 cents per litre

• Diesel 0.005% sulphur: ↓ 19 cents per litre
• Illuminating paraffin (wholesale): ↓ 1 cent per litre
