HIJACKED VEHICLE RECOVERED WITHIN MINUTES IN KAALFONTEIN
Swift action by law enforcement led to the swift recovery of a hijacked Volkswagen T-Cross in Ebony Park on Monday, 15 September 2025.
According to Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Superintendent Xolani Fihla, the Public Safety Department received a tip-off about the recently hijacked vehicle.
Officers from the JMPD By-law Enforcement Unit (BMU) immediately responded and traced the car to Finger Fish Street in Kaalfontein.
“The officers found the vehicle abandoned with its keys still inside. It was safely recovered within 10 minutes of the hijacking report,” said Fihla.
The vehicle was handed over to the Ivory Park SAPS for further processing and investigation.
