Police are investigating after two burnt bodies were discovered in Kaalfontein in the early hours of the morning.
Two (2) male bodies were discovered near a stream in Kaalfontein, along Archerfish Drive, in the early hours of the morning.
According to information received, the bodies showed visible injuries and burn wounds.
It is alleged that the two individuals were suspected of theft in Kaalfontein at around 03:00, after which they were chased by members of the community and caught near the bridge.
Emergency Services and law enforcement agencies were alerted and responded to the scene.
Both victims were declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
Initial reports suggest that the motive behind the killings may be mob justice, with the victims allegedly assaulted and set alight.
Police have opened a case of two counts of murder, and investigations are ongoing. Police have urged residents not to take the law into their own hands and to report suspected criminal activity through proper channels.
Authorities are urging any families with missing relatives to visit Ivory Park Police Station to assist with the identification.
