UPDATE: JOHANNESBURG TAXI ROUTES ALSO TO INCREASE BY R3 FROM 04 MAY 2026

The Ivory Park Taxi Association (IPTA) has confirmed that Johannesburg routes will also see a fare increase of R3, effective from Monday, 04 May 2026.
This comes after earlier communication indicated that Johannesburg routes would not be affected. The latest notice now confirms that fares to Johannesburg and surrounding areas have been adjusted.

This update confirms that Johannesburg routes are now affected, with a standard R3 increase per trip commuters.
The increase is linked to rising fuel costs and operational expenses, impacting taxi associations across Midrand, Ivory Park, and Tembisa.
Commuters are advised to budget accordingly ahead of the changes taking effect on 04 May 2026.
