COUNTERFEIT GOODS WORTH OVER R2.6 MILLION SEIZED IN TEMBISA AND WIERDABRUG
The Gauteng Counterfeit Unit, working with brand protectors and Gauteng Wardens, carried out a targeted operation on Tuesday, 12 August 2025, in Tembisa and Wierdabrug, leading to a major counterfeit goods bust.
The team confiscated a range of fake items, including:
• Labels for counterfeit consumables
• Counterfeit cellphone accessories
• Counterfeit toys
The seized goods have an estimated total value of R2,686,600.00.
Authorities say the operation reflects the Gauteng Police’s commitment to protecting consumers from harmful products and combating intellectual property crimes, contributing to a safer and more secure environment for residents.
