LETTER TO THE EDITOR: DULCIE SEPTEMBER PRIMARY SCHOOL IN A BAD STATE
Concerned parents and a community letter expose dangerous conditions at Dulcie September Primary School, prompting calls for urgent action.
Below is a letter we received from a reader last week on the schools reopening day. A week later the situation has not changed.
Good day Kae news,
I am sending this message in a space of worry and concern.
The conditions of Dulcie September Primary school are very questionable. Every human being can even attest to the fact that the school is a health and safety hazard.
From the conditions of the classrooms to the bathrooms even their own admin center is so absurd. All windows broken,some classrooms the doors are detached or have no doors at all.
Metal sheets laying around and big rocks all over the school that kids can easily trip and fall whilst running around. Water puddles everywhere.
Today being the first day at school, there is smelling dead cat laying on the ground. The list is endless. I know it’s free education but at what cost? Being called that your child got sliced by a metal sheet during break time? Or maybe the child fell and hit a rock?
In all that, The only thing they’ll say is sorry. The school needs to be investigated as to how their funds are managed honestly.”
EDITOR: Today, 21 January 2026, parents of the children attending the school gathered in numbers. They say they were promised that work would commence but nothing has happened. The parents have demanded an urgent SGB meeting tomorrow to get answers. They also demand that the MEC for Education visit the school personally accompanied by the Insfrastructure Department.
Parents demand that a specific date be announced for when the construction of the new school will begin.
