The second day of the KAE Water Strike has seen all exits and entrances in Ebony Park closed as residents intensify their protest action.

Demonstrators have vowed to continue until they are directly addressed by Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi.

Impact on Daily Life
• Schools remain disrupted, with pupils unable to attend classes.
• Shops are closed, and many workers are stranded, unable to get to their jobs.
• Republic Road remains barricaded and inaccessible.

Demands
• Ebony Park residents demand a reliable water supply, after months of inconsistent access.
• Themba Khoza residents, who have now joined the strike, are demanding electricity — something they have been without for 23 years.

Leadership Failure
The protests erupted after Mayor Morero failed to visit the two communities during his planned service delivery blitz earlier this week. Residents say they will not back down until their demands are met and service delivery is restored.

The situation remains tense and volatile across Midrand, with Ebony Park, Kaalfontein, Ivory Park and Themba Khoza united in their call for dignity and basic services.

KAE News will continue to bring you updates as the strike enters its second day.
