RRTA has confirmed new taxi fare increases starting 04 May 2026, with most routes increasing by R2 to R3 due to rising fuel and operating costs.

The Rabie Ridge Taxi Association (RRTA) has announced a new set of taxi fare increases, which will come into effect from Monday, 04 May 2026.

In a notice issued to commuters, RRTA said the decision follows careful discussions and is necessary due to the rising costs of fuel, spare parts, and vehicle maintenance. The association says the adjustments are aimed at ensuring continued reliable transport services.

KEY ROUTE INCREASES

Some of the updated fares include:

  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Munyaka – R17 (up from R15)
  • Rabie Ridge to Midrand – R18 (up from R16)
  • Klipfontein to Midrand – R19 (up from R16)
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Mall of Africa – R19
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Corporate Park – R21
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Vodaworld – R22
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Kyalami – R22
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Kempton Park – R23
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Centurion – R24
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Alexandra – R26
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Sandton – R26
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Rosebank – R27
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Fourways – R27
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Johannesburg – R28
  • Rabie Ridge / Klipfontein to Randburg – R28

Most routes have seen an increase of R2 to R3 per trip.

The fare adjustments comes after similar announcements by other taxi associations in the area, reflecting a broader impact of rising operational costs across the transport sector.

Commuters are advised to budget accordingly and take note of the new fares starting from 04 May.
